Informal Invitation Writing


INFORMAL INVITATIONS
Informal invitations follow the pattern of ordinary personal letters. These letters are written to relatives, friends and acquaintances.
These are written in a letter, in an informal format.
Write in first person.
Write ‘Dear’ in salutation followed by the receiver’s name.
Mention the date of writing invitation.
Complimentary close is ‘Yours sincerely’.
Illustrative Example:
1. The literary club of your school is putting up the play ‘Macbeth’. As secretary of the club, draft an invitation inviting the famous writer Sudha Murthy to be the guest of honour at the function. Write the invitation in not more than 50 words. You are Kanta/Sri Kant.

Dear Madam
