Subject: Inadequate bus service in area
Sir
On behalf of the residents of Guru Nanak Colony,
Hanumangarh, I wish to draw the attention of the concerned authorities towards
the inadequate bus service in our area which is adversely affecting the lives
of the residents who commute by bus.
Our locality lies on the outskirts of the main city.
Majority of people resorts to use of public transport to travel the long distance.
Women, school going children, old people and people going to office have to
suffer in the over-crowded buses. Most of them cannot afford their own vehicle.
Despite our repeated communication the concerned
authorities have turned a deaf ear to our concern. Plying of a few more buses
can solve the issue.
I hope the concerned authorities will take an
immediate action to solve our problem.
Yours sincerely
Gurpreet

Subject: Views on importance of sport and games in
schools
Madam
Through the prestigious columns of your widely
circulated newspaper I would like to express my views on importance of sport
and games in schools and on the need to create awareness about it.
There goes a good proverb—”All work and no play makes
Jack a dull boy“. But unfortunately in India importance of games only
remembered to organize annual sports day. It is not the part of academics. In
ancient Greece they formed the major part of education. In the advanced
countries of the present day also they are a regular feature of the school and
college curriculum.
The importance of games and sports can never be
minimized. First of all, they are good exercises and help to keep body fit and
healthy. They make them mentally alert and physically strong. Secondly, students
learn to cope with difficult situations. By displaying their feats before many
spectators, they can overcome their nervousness.
Thirdly, it gives the necessary break from the
everyday monotonous life. Fourthly, games and sports help building a sense of
cooperation and team-spirit in an individual. Sports like cricket, football,
etc. are won by the collective efforts of all the members of the team.
I hope the concerned authorities will understand the
need to provide better sports facilities in our school so that we can have good
players in the future who can bring laurels for the country.
Yours sincerely

Subject: Views on the problem of Noise Pollution
Madam
Through the prestigious columns of your widely circulated
newspaper I would like to draw the attention of the concerned authorities
towards the problem of noise pollution.
Along with air and water pollution our cities are also
under an attack of rising noise pollution. Marriage processions, DJ during wedding
receptions, loud music from neighbourhood etc. all are sources of great trouble
to old people, the ailing and students.
It is the examination time and students find it very
difficult to concentrate. Playing loud music publicly is prohibited after 10 o’
clock but who cares! Either it is early in the morning or afternoon or late
night one can hear unpleasant sounds. Noise pollution has adverse effects on
our health. First of all it damages our hearing capability. Loud noise causes
irritation, stress, hypertension etc.
We already have a law what we need is to enforce it
strictly. Public awareness is necessary to control noise pollution.
The authorities also need to play their role. They
need to take up adequate measures to ensure that people don’t violate the law.
I hope the concerned authorities and general public
will pay heed to my views and will act accordingly.
Yours sincerely

Subject: Views on cruelty against stray
animals
Sir
Through the prestigious columns of your
widely circulated newspaper I would like to express my views on the cruelty
against stray animals.
Dogs are known to be man’s best friends.
Unfortunately we apply this on our pet dogs only. I feel very strongly about
the ill-treatment meted out to stray dogs at the hands of callous and
indifferent people. Stray dogs always remain on the mercy of people to get
their food. We have an unjustified fear of stray dogs.
It is high time that the concerned
authorities for animal welfare ensure proper implementation of law relating to
animal rights. But general public must also feel pity on these animals.
I hope my letter will enlighten people
on the issue.
Yours sincerely
Anu
